Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi – Drive to Amboseli National Park
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by our representative and briefed on your Amboseli Rift Valley Maasai Mara safari. You will then drive to Amboseli National Park, a journey of approximately 4 to 5 hours through the beautiful Kenyan countryside. The drive offers views of local villages, farmland, and the changing landscape as you approach the Amboseli ecosystem. You will arrive at your lodge in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive in Amboseli National Park. Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in Amboseli National Park
After an early breakfast, you will depart for a full day game drive in Amboseli National Park. Your Amboseli Rift Valley Maasai Mara safari includes exploring the park’s diverse habitats, from the dry lake bed of Lake Amboseli to the lush swamps that attract a variety of wildlife. The park is famous for its large elephant herds, with over 1,000 elephants roaming the park. You will see elephants up close, as well as lions, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and over 400 bird species. The best time to see Mount Kilimanjaro is early morning when the clouds clear, offering spectacular views of the snow-capped peak. Day 3: Amboseli to Lake Naivasha – Great Rift Valley
After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Naivasha, a journey of approximately 5 to 6 hours through the Great Rift Valley. Your Amboseli Rift Valley Maasai Mara safari includes a stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint, where you can take in the stunning panoramic views of the escarpment and the valley floor. The Great Rift Valley is a geological wonder, stretching from the Middle East to Mozambique. You will arrive at Lake Naivasha in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon boat ride on the lake. Lake Naivasha is a beautiful freshwater lake fringed by thick papyrus, home to hippos and over 400 bird species. The boat ride offers close encounters with hippos and a variety of water birds, including fish eagles, kingfishers, and herons. Dinner and overnight at your lodge in Lake Naivasha.
Day 4: Lake Naivasha to Maasai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, you will drive to Maasai Mara National Reserve, a journey of approximately 5 to 6 hours through the Great Rift Valley. Your Amboseli Rift Valley Maasai Mara safari continues with the promise of incredible wildlife experiences in Kenya’s most famous reserve. You will arrive at your lodge in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive in the Maasai Mara. The reserve is famous for its Big Five – lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinos. You will also see cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, zebras, and over 470 bird species. The rolling savannah plains offer exceptional wildlife viewing. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Maasai Mara to Nairobi – Departure
After an early breakfast, you will enjoy a final morning game drive in the Maasai Mara, capturing any wildlife sightings you may have missed. Return to your lodge for a late breakfast, then drive back to Nairobi with en-route game viewing. You will be dropped off at your hotel or airport for your departure. This marks the end of your Amboseli Rift Valley Maasai Mara safari, leaving you with incredible memories of three of Kenya’s most iconic destinations.
